Welcome to Kempsville Elementary School, a fully accredited school!

We are pleased to have you as a part of our school family. At Kempsville, we are home to respectful, responsible and safe Kempsville Indians. We can't hide that Kempsville Pride!

We want every student to succeed, and we are committed to working with students to ensure that they learn and grow in a supported and enriching environment. As an elementary school student, your child will undergo many changes during their years here. There will be new friends, new teachers, new knowledge, and a variety of opportunities.

At Kempsville, our students are at the heart of every decision. Everything we do is about ensuring their experiences here help them to develop in a caring, supportive environment with great teachers and staff at the center of the school. We have high expectations and high aspirations for every one of our students and our vision is that our students aspire to be the best they can be. Virtual Learning Day Virginia Beach City Public Schools  will use three Virtual Learning Days (Oct. 8, Nov. 6 and Jan. 28) to make up three of the four instructional days lost because of school cancellations due to Hurricane Florence. Superintendent Dr. Aaron Spence has also decided to waive the fourth day for students by using time built in to the 181-day school calendar.

The work may be completed on the Virtual Learning Day or over a designated 10-day window of time in order to give flexibility for students and families.
